Description
MSUM will be participating in a plastic bag recycling challenge. The competition lasts for six months, and concludes mid-April. Our goal is to recycle 500 lbs of plastic; if we reach that goal the university will win a free bench made from recycled plastic. However, the real goal is to have people start switching to reusable bags. There are five bins around campus:
- Nemzek Hall- if you go in the main entrance and keep walking it will be against the wall on the right (by the swimming pool entrance)
- MacLean Hall- near the Dragon Cafe
- Comstock Memorial Union (CMU)- On the main floor by the C-Store near the US Bank ATM
- Hagen Hall- next to the electronics recycling bin, across from Hagen 111
- John Neumaier Hall- near the front desk
Not only are we accepting plastic bags for recycling we also accept:
- Grocery bags
- Bread bags
- Case overwrap (from bulk beverages)
- Dry cleaning bags
- Newspaper sleeves
- Ice bags
- Wood pellet bags
- Ziplock and other re-sealable bags
- Produce bags
- Bubble wrap and packaging air pillows
- Salt bags
- Cereal bags
Reduce your own carbon footprint by recycling your bags and switching to reusable.
